Welcome to my website.  I’m really glad that you’re here. It’s great that you’re thinking about support through the postnatal period, we aren’t meant to do this alone. I am a recognised and experienced Doula UK Postnatal Doula offering compassionate postnatal support in Surrey and West Sussex.

I support families living in Dorking, Leatherhead, Ashstead, Cobham, Epsom, Reigate, Redhill, Guildford, Cranleigh, Horsham, Crawley, Billingshurst and surrounding Surrey Hills Villages.

·      Maybe you’re wondering what life with a newborn will be like?

·      Maybe you’re thinking about how you’re going to make life work with a new baby when you’ve already got other children?

·      Maybe you have a sense that these early days aren’t just something to get through?

·      Maybe you know that nurturing and caring for yourself, allowing yourself time to rest and restore, will have a positive impact on your family way into the future?

Whether you’re welcoming your first baby or your fourth, adjusting to the shifts and changes a new life can bring takes time and it can be challenging and exhausting.

Make yourself a hot drink, get comfy and I’ll tell you a bit about myself and the support I can offer you,

Postnatal Doula in Surrey

I’m Katherine, an experienced Doula UK recognised postnatal doula in Surrey and West Sussex. I offer flexible and caring support at home for new parents as they adjust to life with a new baby.

As your postnatal doula, I’ll work with you and your family to create a space where you can feel nurtured, valued and supported. I’m a listening ear, an extra pair of hands at home and a bridge to further information. No judgement, no agenda just lots of warmth and compassion as you make the transition to life with a new baby.

I live in Dorking with my husband James and our three children aged 15, 13 and 9.

I have been a postnatal doula since 2018, I am proud to be a member of Doula UK and abide by their philosophy and code of conduct.

You can learn more about me and my qualifiations here.

I am also an insured and fully trained sling consultant, To find out more about the ways I can support you, take a look at my services here.

I cover most areas of Surrey and West Sussex, if you’re unsure just get in touch with me here.

How Can A Doula Help You?

I can support you whilst you:

  • Rest and recover from your birth.

  • Bond with your new arrival, spend time being together and getting to know one another.

  • Explore your feelings and choices around parenting and matrescence.

  • Establish feeding and develop an understanding of your baby’s cues.

  • Gently introduce a new sibling and spend time connecting with your other children.

This could look like:

  • Practical help around your home. I can do light housework, hang the washing, loading the dishwasher - all those little tasks that often feel like they are mounting up and taking up head space.

  • Running some errands, picking up supplies and groceries.

  • Accompanying you on your first trips into the world, it can feel overwhelming to head out in sole charge of a tiny human but it will slowly begin to feel normal….I promise.

  • I love cooking so delight in providing you and your family with delicious and nutritious meals, snacks and treats to keep your energy up.

  • I will happily entertain your other children, giving you precious time to rest or focus on your newborn, I have spent several years as a primary school teaching assistant and running a busy toddler group not to mention my own three lovelies so I am familiar and comfortable with children of all ages.

  • I can offer you a listening ear and a non-judgemental space on your journey to becoming a mother and above all I can support you to be kind and compassionate to yourself as you adapt to the changes a new baby can bring.

  • As your doula I can act as a bridge or short cut to other sources of information and support, in the haze of sleep deprivation and vulnerability it can often seem hard to find them but they are there and whether it’s a baby massage class or a breast feeding drop in, I will be there for you as you explore your options and find your way.

As your postnatal doula, my support is always warm, caring and compassionate. I can offer flexible support and help whatever that might look like for you. It is about you adjusting to the crazy ride that is motherhood and I will be there with you through all those ups and downs for as long as I am needed.
